We believe in the power of nature and in the spirit of adventure. We think of ourselves as storytellers, and with the aid of the beautiful jungle of Tulum we’ll help you create the best memories. No matter where you come from, one of our tree houses will welcome you with arms wide open.
The special light that hits the treehouse every morning, the smell of hand crafted wood, the stirring sound of nature and a sense of awakening will be part of the memories you take back home.
This is the premium adventure.
The sounds of the jungle will stir your senses.
At Ajal Tulum, the magic of birds singing all day will be the soundtrack of every adventure you make. As you climb our 50-foot watchtower to experience the top of the canopy and gaze at the brilliant night sky, you’ll feel one with nature.

About John Pink, Founder.
Inspired by Thomas L. Friedman’s book “ Thank You for Being Late” and a life-long fascination with the Yucatan peninsula and the Mayan culture, John Pink, Founder of Ajal Tulum Tree House Boutique Hotel took his passion for a healthy Earth and set out to build a small, ultra eco-friendly tree house village in the magical tropical forest alongside Cenote Escondido not far from the gorgeous Caribbean beaches of Tulum.
“I knew it was a sign and permission to move forward, when walking on the pristine beach in Sian Ka’an, the UNESCO World Heritage Biosphere reserve close to Ajal, I looked down to see fresh jaguar paw prints in the sand. Big, sharp and well defined, it was obvious from the tracks that the most revered animal in the Mayan culture just walked where I was walking. That was the moment I knew!”
Since high school John has had wanderlust and an entrepreneurial instinct. With 30 counties under his belt, many of the sights and experiences influenced the creation of Ajal. He’s heard people say “what kind of crazy person would do a project like this? Thank goodness he did!” I agree! It’s a dream come true and a dreamy place to visit.
Surrounded by the song and smell of the jungle, steeped in Forest Therapy, Ajal pronounced [ah-hál], means Awaken in the Mayan language. To John Pink it means to awaken your spirit, awaken your mind, body and heart to the magic of this amazing piece of paradise. He wants to share the experience with you. He wants you to come to unwind, reconnect with nature, recharge your batteries and go home with a new lease on life.
